Altitis, alt-itis

Also known as altoholism.

The phenomenon of creating numerous alts, usually for the purpose of experiencing firsthand the numerous power sets available in City of Heroes and City of Villains. Altitis may or may not have a detrimental effect on the frequency at which said alts gain levels.

Altitis differs from creating 'filler' or 'dummy' characters in that these characters are intended to be played, rather than created and left alone.
