Definition

Altoholism

Also referred to as altitis.

The phenomenon of creating numerous alts, usually for the purpose of experiencing firsthand the numerous Power Sets available in City of Heroes and City of Villains. A player who does this can be said to be an altoholic. Altoholism may or may not have a detrimental effect on the frequency at which said alts gain levels.

Altoholism differs from creating 'filler' or 'dummy' characters in that these characters are intended to be played, however infrequently, rather than created and left alone.
