Protect the Oranbegan artifacts from the Circle of Thorns (35-40)

Briefing

The Paragon City Museum just got a shipment of objects for next month's featured exhibit on Ancient American Cultures. I've had a chance to look at some of the items, and I think that some of them are far more ancient than anyone suspects. I think that some of those artifacts are actually Oranbegan, and I'm pretty sure the Circle of Thorns will want to get their hands on them. I want you to protect the Oranbegan artifacts from the Circle of Thorns. We don't know what all of them are for, but I don't want to find out the hard way. The Circle will try to move quickly, they might be done in as little as 90 minutes.

Mission Acceptance

The artifacts are being stored in a warehouse nearby. Please get over there quickly.

Unnecessary Solicitation

I need you to protect the artifacts in that warehouse. The Circle could be there as we speak!

Mission Objective(s)

The smell of rose oil and burning fennel seeds tells you the Circle has already arrived.

  • Protect artifacts from Circle
    • 2 artifacts to save

You defeated the Circle of Thorns and found some interesting artifacts.

Clue
Pendant

This ancient brass pendant has been badly tarnished, its intricate designs worn almost smooth by the passage of time. When you hold it close to your body, you are aware of a slight quickening of your heartbeat, as if you sensed danger lurking from the floor beneath your feet. According to the exhibit tag, this pendant was used in the summoning of demons.

Clue
Diary of Tyoss

The exhibit tag calls this clay tablet "The Diary of Tyoss". A roughly translated excerpt reads:

"We have behaved as animals do, brutally, savagely, without mercy. I have wept for those who die by our crimes, but have not stayed my hand. I wonder: in saving our lives, have we destroyed everything we once were?"

Debriefing

This pendant you found will have to go to MAGI, it's far too dangerous for public display. The tablet, on the other hand, seems to have no mystical properties whatsoever. But it certainly is interesting. Based on the brutality of the Circle's sacrifices, I had always assumed Oranbega was a cruel and savage society. It seems I may have been wrong. Something must have hardened the Circle's hearts against humanity. I only wish I knew what that was.
