In practice, {{slashcommand|ignore_spammer}} is not as effective as using the {{slashcommand|petition}}slash command to create a petition yourself.  On the other hand, {{slashcommand|ignore_spammer}} places players on your ignore list just as well as {{slashcommand|ignore}} does.

If you feel strongly about someone else’s poor conduct, placing them on your ignore list and sending in a petition about the player’s conduct is strongly recommended. Engaging or arguing with the offending player is also strongly discouraged. Avoid what brings you down, and embrace what lifts you up.

Slash Command

/ignore_spammer character

Places the player on your ignore list and flags the player as someone you believe is a spammer.

A “spammer” is a player who acts to the detriment of other players by repeatedly sending the same message over and over or any message that breaks the Homecoming Servers Code of Conduct (hate speech, controversial political or religious speech, adult content, etc.). If 10 or more players have marked another player as a spammer, a petition to a Game Master will often be automatically generated.

In practice, /ignore_spammer is not as effective as using the /petition slash command to create a petition yourself. On the other hand, /ignore_spammer places players on your ignore list just as well as /ignore does.

If you feel strongly about someone else’s poor conduct, placing them on your ignore list and sending in a petition about the player’s conduct is strongly recommended. Engaging or arguing with the offending player is also strongly discouraged. Avoid what brings you down, and embrace what lifts you up.
